Driving lessons Yaxley - Ollie Moutrey practical test pass

Congratulations to Ollie Moutrey from Yaxley in Peterborough who completed his driving lessons today with an excellent 1st time pass!!

Ollie started his driving lessons in the Spring, and had to wait a little longer than ideal for his practical driving test due to the long waiting lists, but in this time he prepared well and stayed consistent with his lessons, making today's test almost a formality.

It was great to teach you, and fantastic to get that 1st time pass, especially after your mate Liam (who also passed with MPH Driving Academy) got his licence at the 1st attempt a couple of months ago!!

Enjoy your new car that you have waiting - and I'll try now to get your sister through her driving lessons swiftly and get another 1st time pass for her!

driving lessons Norwich - top tips to passing your practical driving test

If you are looking to start your driving lessons in Norwich, in Poringland, Caistor, Thorpe End, Plumbstead, Cringleford, Wymondham, Hethersett, Trowse, or anywhere else then the following might help give you some pointers on ways you can improve your chances of passing that practical driving test.  Make the most of your driving lessons and you will improve your chances of success.

Be Consistent - try to take a weekly driving lesson and make it every week.  Those that are consistent learn and progress much quicker than those that are not.
Be Prepared - it’s your lesson, be ready for it and make the most of it.  Pay attention, ask questions and help your learning move along quicker.  Think about what you did in your last driving lesson - what worked and perhaps what didn't and think about what you'll try to do be better next time.
Recap - all instructors should go through a re-cap with you at the start of the lesson.  This will go over previous lessons to ensure you have retained past information and learnt.  Does this happen on your lesson?  Use this re-cap to ask any questions that may have arisen from your previous driving lesson, in order to help you progress on the next.
Lesson Objective - your instructor should then set an objective for the current lesson.  This is so important as with a clear objective you will have something to aim towards and a target for that lessons learning.
Structure - all lessons should be structured to help encourage and develop learning and to meet the objective.
Summary - your lesson should finish with a summary.  This will go through what has been done and what areas were good and perhaps what areas still need work.  What you discuss at the end is often what you take away and remember.  Make it important.  Don't go away from the lessons with questions still needing to be answered.  If you didn't understand anything, however small, ask for clarity so you can leave on a positive note.
Self Evaluate - most people fail their driving tests because they are still inconsistent with their driving and simply not ready!  Be honest with yourself.  If you are making mistakes in lessons, it’s likely you’ll make mistakes on your test.
Listen to your Instructor - most instructors are highly trained and experienced in assessing your ability and will know when you are ready, it’s worth listening to them!!  No driving instructor should try and keep you longer than is necessary, but most will know better than you if and when you are ready.

All of the driving instructors that we use are fully qualified DVSA approved instructors that will help you to make the most of your driving lessons and give you the best chance of passing your practical driving test first time.

As an MPH Driving Academy pupil you will also benefit from a great introductory offer, competitive pricing, FREE access to Theory Test Pro and a driving school with a fantastic pass rate!!

Practical driving test success for Greg Rowland

Congratulations to Greg Rowland from Yaxley in Peterborough who on Tuesday 26th August 2014 successfully passed his practical driving test at the 1st attempt.

www.mphdrivingacademy.co.uk
Greg Rowland, Yaxley Peterborough 26/08/2014

Greg's driving lessons started in February 2014 and he was consistent with a driving lesson most weeks.  His progress was encouraging throughout and the standard improved each week.  When Greg, took his test, he was ready and I knew he was ready.  The preparation and training had been good and it was really a case of how many driver faults would he get rather than whether he would pass or not.
As it turned out it was an easy pass with just a couple of very minor driver faults.
Greg said that he "would recommend Mark to anyone looking to start driving lessons" and that "he was an excellent instructor who was easy to get on with".

Congratulation again Greg on some great driving lessons and a fantastic first time pass.  Best wishes for the future and your new adventures at university - I'm sure you will have a fantastic time.

Helping learner drivers to save on their insurance premiums

As well as taking practical driving lessons with an approved driving instructor it is both recommended and beneficial if you can also practice outside of lessons with a supervising driver.  One of the barriers to this is quite often the cost of the insurance or the supervising person not wanting to affect their policy by adding a learner driver to it.
Many companies now offer policies that will cover the learner and not the car, and many are now offering discounted premiums when you buy through an approved driving instructor as this further reduces the risk to the insurer as they know you are taking driving lessons with an approved driving instructor.
In order to help all our pupils (and any others) we've teamed up and registered ourselves with 4 such companies that will hopefully make insurance affordable and improve your learning potential.

Top Tips for driving lessons in Norwich and Peterborough

All driving instructors and driving schools will be slightly different.  How do you make the most of your driving lessons and know you’ll have the best chance of passing your practical driving test??  Here are our top tips to help you progress and ensure you are ready to pass your test 1st time!!

  1. Be Consistent - try to take a weekly driving lesson and make it every week.  Those that are consistent learn and progress much quicker than those that are not.
  2. Be Prepared - it’s your lesson, be ready for it and make the most of it.  Pay attention, ask questions and help your learning move along quicker.  Think about what you did in your last driving lesson - what worked and perhaps what didn't and think about what you'll try to do be better next time.

  7. Self Evaluate - most people fail their driving tests because they are still inconsistent with their driving and simply not ready!  Be honest with yourself.  If you are making mistakes in lessons, it’s likely you’ll make mistakes on your test.
  8. Listen to your Instructor - most instructors are highly trained and experienced in assessing your ability and will know when you are ready, it’s worth listening to them!!  No driving instructor should try and keep you longer than is necessary, but most will know better than you if and when you are ready.

Are you making the most of your driving lessons and giving yourself the best opportunity to pass your practical driving test?

If not, then a change might be necessary.  Is it you that needs to change?  Be honest with yourself, are you making the most of your lessons?

Do you need to change your driving instructor / driving school?  It’s a big decision, but it’s your decision and if you want to pass 1st time you need to ensure you're getting the best possible tuition and the best possible driving lessons!!

How to improve your chances of passing the practical driving test

Here are some of the main reasons why people fail their practical driving test - pay attaention to these and improve your chances of success!!
